W+K東京LABは2003年の立ち上げ以来、HIFANA、高木正勝、AFRA、DJ Uppercutの作品を、ほぼすべてのタイトルで、DVD＋CDという形態でリリースしつづけている。ハイブリッドをコンセプトに、さまざまな要素を融合させた音楽をリリースするだけにとどまらず、早くから音楽を軸としたオーディオビジュアル体験を創出することに着目。今、ここ東京でしか生まれない表現を追求しつづけてきた。レーベル設立5周年、記念すべき10枚目のリリースはDVD+BOOK+BLOG で構成された“TOKYO.点”。このリリースをセレブレイトするライブイベントを、LIQUIDROOMで開催する。ここで、新しい体験を垣間見ることができる。ここから、新しい旅がはじまる。つぎの“点”へ。
Since W+K Tokyo Lab was launched in 2003, we’ve continued to produce CD+DVD releases for our artists Hifana, Takagi Masakatsu, Afra, and DJ Uppercut. Embracing the concept of hybrid, all our releases have been experiments in audio-visual expression and beyond, while striving to create a new experience that could only be born in Tokyo. Now that we’ve come 5 years along in this journey, this month we present our tenth release, a DVD+Book+Blog, called Tokyo.点, and to celebrate it, we’ll hold our biggest and best party at Liquidroom, featuring live performances by five of our artists. Come and share this experience with us as we kick off a new phase in the journey of W+K Tokyo Lab.

海外において、その独創的な作品と、ライブパフォーマンスが、高い評価を受けてきたHIFANAのフランス・メジャー・デビューが遂に決定! delabel / EMIフランスより、6月9日、『CONNECT』（LIVE DVD+CD：ボーナス映像・トラック付）をリリースする。
アルバムからピックアップされた7曲のボーナス・トラックに加え、ボーナス・ヴィデオには、W+K Tokyo Labとのコラボレーションで制作された傑作ミュージック・ヴィデオ「Fat Bros 」 (2004 NYC THE ONE SHOW DESIGN COMPETITION ベスト・ショート・フィルム受賞)や「WAMONO」（文化庁メディア芸術祭優秀賞2005、Space Shower TV MVA 06 Best CG & Animation受賞）を追加収録。

Hifana’s Debut in France
Hifana, with their original live performance and musical works that’s been highly regarded outside of Japan is now finally making their debut in France! The French label called / EMI France will release the French version of their latest album “Connect” (DVD+CD with bonus track / video) on June 9th, 2008.
Besides 7 bonus tracks from the 1st / 2nd album, a bonus video will include the masterpiece video which was produced in collaboration with W+K Tokyo Lab, such as “Fat Bros” selected as one of the best 12 short films by NYC THE ONE SHOW FILM (2004) and “WAMONO” which received an excellence prize from the Media Arts Festival by the Agency of Cultural Affairs of Japan (2005) and the Best CG & Animation award from Space Shower TV MVA (2006).
Furthermore, prior to the overseas debut, their exclusive live tracks will be released through iTunes in 22 countries in late May. Hifana will perform a special live set for this exclusive release and the event “iTunes Live from Tokyo - After Hours” at Apple Store in Shibuya on 4/20 coming Sunday. This event will be the first trial for Apple Japan to start a live event from 10pm, after closing the store. Many guest artists will be featured as well. Don’t miss it.

Lecturing in Barça between april 8-9 for the PromaxBDA conference. Will be interesting as i have never lectured in Spain before and used to live in Madrid during high school.
To my surprise, i will reunite with a long time acquaintance from Imaginary Forces… Anita Olan who will be lecturing on THE ART OF THE TEASE.

Takagi Masakatsu will perform as part of Steve Jansen’s band, along with Cornelius, and also with visuals by Shoko Ise at Slope, a concert by Steve Jensen at Persimmon Hall, Meguro, this month. Steve Jensen was a member of the legendary band “Japan” from the late 70’s, and gained a great following in the country of the same name. In October of last year, he released his first ever solo album in his long career. This show will be a very special performance expressing the warm and beautiful feeling found on the album, and limited to just one exclusive night in Tokyo. 1970年代後半から、革新的なバンド 「Japan」 のメンバーとして音楽活動を開始し、日本でも絶大な人気を得るスティーヴ・ジャンセン。2007年10月、キャリア初となるソロ・アルバムをリリース。その緻密で、美しく優しい音世界をステージ上に再現する、東京での一夜限りのプレミアムライヴの開催が決定。このために映像作家・伊瀬聖子が新作を作りおろし、ライヴと連動させてスクリーンに投影。デヴィッド・シルヴィアンやアニャ・ガルバレク等アルバム参加ヴォーカリストも映像として登場します。サポートミュージシャンとしてCorneliusこと小山田圭吾（ギター、他）、高木正勝（ピアノ、キーボード、他）らも参加。

In mid 2008, Tokyo Lab will present its 10th Hybrid CD/DVD release. To celebrate our 5th year, we are planning to create a compilation DVD of our best works, along with a 120 page book of new material featuring all our collaborators to date. Artist’s work in progress and inspirations from this project will be available at the Tokyo.Ten website during its production.
